Bonnie View Farms

Bonnie View Farms is a family owned and operated horse farm located in the heart of King Township (Kettleby, Ontario). Started in 1985 by George and Dolina Puccia, this unique farm has grown to encompass multiple disciplines and breeds of horses.

George and Dolly started all of their four children riding at a very young age. While some in the family are more fair-weather riders than others, Dolly and her girls ride as much as possible.

They are involved in numerous aspects of the equine industry. They enjoy showing and competing with their horses, but most of all they love to take their favorite horses out on the trail. They enjoy camping and traveling with their horses. They frequent such places as the Ganaraska Forest, the Vivian Forest, and the Algonquin Provincial Park.

Together they are involved in a great organization called the Ontario Trail Riders Association (OTRA), where they regularly meet up with other horse people to camp and trail ride all over Ontario. They also organize and lead several trail rides a year, mostly in the Ganaraska and Vivian Forests. Their newest favorite place to visit is Otter Creek in New York State.

The Puccia's show the Mountain Horses they breed at several Gaited Horse Shows here in Ontario. Bethany is the “2008 Gaited Horse Show series Trail Queen”, having won every Trail Class in 008. Currently, she is preparing to defend her title for 2009. Jessica also enjoys showing her Egyptian Arabian x QH “Oscar” in a variety of disciplines including Hunter on the flat and over fences, Equitation, Western Pleasure, Trail and Games. Their most recent showing endeavor is competing in Competitive Trail and Endurance Races with the Ontario Competitive Trail Riding Association (OCTRA), which they’ve been doing for the last 5 years. Rachel also enjoys showing her Saddlebred x Arabian “Sunny”, where they sparkle and shine in the Saddle Seat ring.

The Puccia's are also members of the Gaited Horse Group of Ontario (GHGO), and Dolly is heading the Show Committee again for 2009. The aim of GHGO is to unite all gaited horse riders and breeds, providing a social and support network for all.

During her time at the University of Guelph, Jessica helped start the U of G Equestrian Club. She served as the Western Executive and Show Coordinator. She also competed for the U of G Hunter and Western Teams on the IHSA circuit.
