BVF's Remington Steele

Remi is our gorgeous double certified RMHA/KMSHA grulla (black dun), (DOB 4/20/13). A very rare colour in the Mountain Horse breeds! He stands just under 15.0hh, with a compact, muscular build. Remi is beautifully put together, with outstanding conformation and textbook dun markings; including a dorsal stripe along his back and zebra striping up all four legs. Remi is brave, willing, super smart, very inquisitive, and extremely friendly & people-oriented! His bloodlines include “Ramblin Rex”, “Sam Clemon's Tim”, “Dock” and “Tobe”. This gorgeous boy is definitely an eyecatcher!

Remi is a very experienced riding horse; he has 1000's of riding miles under his saddle pad! A great many of those miles have been ridden on the trails. Remi has done both solo riding (~70% of the time) and group riding (~30% of the time), even big group organized trail rides too. Remi has travelled all over Ontario; he regularly goes on overnight camping trips, goes to several busy horse shows each year, has done lots of Extreme Cowboy trail obstacles and is working towards becoming gunbroke (sound desensitzation), etc. With his compact, muscular build Remi is very agile and an athletic mover. He's light on his feet, has excellent balance & collection, is easy to maneuver (very responsive to the riding cues), and well versed in all of his lateral movements (leg-yielding, shoulder/haunches in/out, etc.). Remi has an awesome super smooth saddle gait, which he can preform at a great range of speeds, and a lovely collected canter too. Remi is energetic, out-going, and a forward mover. He is a well trained riding horse, and as such he can be ridden by all levels of riders, but he needs a home with a riding partner that will engage his keen mind as well as challenge him phyically by making use of all of his gaits (walk, saddle gait, canter, etc.). So Remi is best suited to an intermediate or above rider.

Remi is formerly one of our breeding stallions, gelded July 11th 2019, through no fault of his own! We wished to downsize from 3 breeding stallions to just 2, and Remi was the most logical choice to geld as he is the younger brother to our chocolate stallion Tribute. Additionally, another consideration in choosing Remi is his extremely social nature; Remi greatly prefers being with other horses to living the solo life of a stallion. Prior to gelding Remi we collected and banked frozen semen, so he is still available for breeding to.
